A thing I’m playing around with recently is to conciously notice the good in all things that come my way. I find this very powerful during meditation.
If I had to give it a name I would call it “to elevate my thoughts”.
Here’s how it works for me:
Witness what thoughts come up and then explore the positive light in them. Especially in those thoughts you label “negative”. To me it actually feels physical to some extend. Like my body is helping by sending energy that flows upwards.
Hard to describe.
When I do this I feel a shift in my thinking. Not like a switch that’s being flipped, but like a shadow that vanishes like morning fog, making room for something lighter rising from the same place.
Also I noticed that my mind stops throwing thoughts at me after only a brief amount of time doing this. I find my mind growing still pretty quick.
Why is that?
I’m not sure.
But I think it has always been this way:
Light thoughts flow away easily.
Dark thoughts always linger.
