You have two Lives

When I die, I do that myself. Noone can do that for me.

I think that is a great reminder that your life is ultimately a single-player game. You are born, then a million different sounds and lights and feelings and smells come your way and then you die.

That is all.

And while that may sound depressing at first, you’ll find out eventually that this is actually very a beautiful thought. Because you realise that how you interpret all those sounds, lights and feelings is completely up to you. You realise that you are not the victim of anything. It’s all choice. Your choice. And you have everything you need to make that choice.

Death itself is a wonderful reminder of that.
It is coming for each of us individually.
There is nothing you can do about it.

Remembering this can be a source of great strength, beauty and joy in your life.

Somewhere I read this lately:
“You have two lives. The second one starts when you realise you have only one.”

I am not sure who wrote this, but it rings very true to me.
Once you realise, truly realise that you will die, every move you make in life will feel different.
Every path you taken, every choice you make.
And in many cases knowing that makes life feel very playful.

And I think I like it that way.
